We lined up the cars into their heat races based on their qualifying times. The tires were wiped down with 70% Isopropyl alcohol and set upside down to dry. Since we only had two drivers, we limited the race to Lane 2 & 3. Lane 2 is the center lane and is much faster than lane 3. Lane 3 has a few tight curves that limit the cars ability to maximize its speed. Ill handling cars can be exaggerated in Lane 3. The track was marked off in 1/8 increments to record the number of laps.
We both took a few practice laps to be comfortable with the cars. After that, the tires got a split clean'n and line up on the starting line. We ran the cars in both lanes with 2:00-minute heats.
