if you want to keep the wheels standard, there are not much possibilities from my point of view.
What i would do, is to sand down the profile until you get slicks.
My 2nd idea, if i would like to have slicks really bad, is to draw the tires in 3D, have the tire master printed by shapeways in "frosted ultra detail" plastic, sent them to CarGo in germany and get back some high grip tires. (i have no lathe to cut tire master out of plastic, brass, alu or anything alike). The printed way works great for me. And it´s cheaper than to buy a lathe (but i could make wheels on the lathe, which i can have printed, too.... hm...)
sorry, no idea if you can interchange tires with other go!models with slicks.
