In fairness to the USPS, it is the only the 2d time in 8 years ASCW has had a package problem. CarGo had one take 8 months to get to him in Germany. It was intact, however.

OK, I'll be made whole $$ wise between the USPS $50 insurance and chuck's business insurance. I think that now between the few spare parts I have in my DSlot box and parts the Chuck has and can still get, I'm going to be able to just finish the cars I have Shapeways chassis for.

Here's the latest sitrep... My parts from the UK, including 10 DSlot motors, has just cleared Customs in NY so they should be here within a week. I'm waiting on 4 sets of DSlot 917 wheels from Chuck, who had to order them from Kyosho America. They're going on the Chevelle and the 2 57s.
The 4 Chevys: Set up to accept chassis. Can't go any farther without the wheels. Need to install wheels in chassis to be sure they line up before mounting chassis to body. Need running gear, paint(got some nice paint schemes in my head) and some need decals.
360 Modenas: Need wings(coming from Chuck)
FXX: Finished
F-40: Finished
458: Needs motor/guide, decals
Enzos: White/Finished, Red: Needs motor/guide
Lancia Delta Martini: Needs motor/guide

I needed to do something while I'm waiting for parts to get here so I decided I could cut the braids that I was going to need. When I finished that I cut the silicone wire pieces that will be replacing the crap wire that comes on the stock DSlot motors. Still bored, I got out the soldering iron and tinned the ends of the wires too! :dance:

Some parts came today. I got busy doing some stuff with the wife this afternoon. No plans, that I know of for tomorrow, Yet. Maybe I can get some stuff done.

I desoldered all the junk off the stock DSlot43 motors. I see nothing in my future for tomorrow so I should be able to get the new silicone wires on them. Maybe even do the gears, braids and pickups too!!

These 6 are ready for the final steps to make them "runnable". The 57 Chevy bodies will be going to paint. The 69 Chevelle is waiting for a new chassis(Monday). Seems somebody had a drop of Krazy Glue on this little work board and the 1st chassis kinda had one of the pockets in the chassis for the bearings get glued to the wood.

I got up during the night and soldered all the new wires on the motors. The bride had to go out for a while this morning so I figured I do a little more and put on the gears, the tips on the wires, the braids, and the guides. I also had to put magnets in 2 of the cars. All but the Chevies are ready to go now. Figure I'll do them when I get the chassis for the Chevelle tomorrow or Tuesday, depending on softball playoff schedule. Done for today!
