Finally some time to work on the DSlots ....

Both Corvette had a nose issue - on the yellow Vette, the front lip was raised by 2.5mm, but only on the left side. Tried to heat the body under flowing hot water, but that did work. Got out the old hair dryer - heat stage 2, air stage 1, directed directly to front, from the inside. Waited half a minute and carefully bent it in the opposite direction of the warp. As you can see from the pictures, it´s better now. Only app. 0.3mm are left. I can live with that. Also cutted 16 pieces of brass tubes to be used as bearings for the chassis. And the big tire glueing has started, too. Got the last CarGo tires on thursday for Aston, they fit great, thanks Carsten!

What is the finest point of the Dslots, by the way? The details, right! What is not so fine about details? They can be lost! After bending the front, i did not recognize immediately that i lost the headlight cover of the black vette. But i did 10 minutes later ....
And after another 7 minutes on knees, i finally managed it to find it again, feeling really lucky :D strange, ey?

What i forgot ... Roland, the BMW looks great, i like the front and rear lights, are those the stock bulbs?

Can you show more of that scratch built chassis? I'd like to see rear end and closeups of how you mounted the axle tubes. Also, a parts list if you'd care to share. Wheels, axles, gears, motor, guide flag?

Slothead the rear axle tube is soldered right on top of the 3/32 square tubing as in pic 3, nothin fancy for sure but i will see if i can come up with a better pic if you want it. also in pic 3 you can see the very rudamentary jig i use as well, nothin fancy there either. my parts list may not be much help. the guide will be scx and the crown is artin, that pinion is a tyco. i use those or ranch design. the original wheels will get turned down to become inserts and i make the wheels and tires. the motor is a radio shack 9v. the coupler is an aluminum rod i drilled a 1.4mm hole thru and 1/16 on the other end for the brass drive shaft. she is not a race car so i didnt see the need to sacrifice a motor for a steel shaft

I went to your Photobucket page and saw more detail about chassis, and now I understand your process. I'm amazed at all the bodies, wheels, etc. you have because I don't know enough about 1/43 other than what places like Target or Toys-R-Us carry. Never knew so much variety existed, but then that's the joy of being connected with HRW crowd.

I'm curious what most folks are using for power and contollers?

Is your track built for 1/43 cars? Mine look odd on my 1/32 routed oval with spacing, walls, and signage sized for larger cars. Also, what chassis do you have under your Legends of Racing bodies?
