Greg, Ted, hope you both are well soon. i agree with Lloyd and Datto, trying to get them done and then decide on which ones to enter but work keeps impeding on my T/A time. Ted i have a bug resin, wish i would have known sooner or paid more attention, could have sent you one. still need to get the stang and the jav in the rubber to be RESINIZED (that is a cool word)

snow fall today, but not to bad.

chassis work is soooo nice and easy compared to body work

opened the wheel well a little (hard to get even), glueing some pre-formed styrene into the wheel wells (quite easy), than cutting the styrene widener into shape (not nice) and now adding putty - i don´t like it! i hope that i´ll like the end result LOL

Nice stuff guys. What putty are you using Peter? I have gone to using some putty called Green Stuff. The guys who sculpt "miniatures" use it. It is a two part epoxy putty, One yellow strip and one blue strip that you mix together (one to one) to make a... Wait For It... green stuff. Works and sticks like a hot damn. Smooths out with dental tools and Vaseline jelly coated tools, cures over nite and sands/ machines well after curing. I'm using it to sculpt my Dragon!!! (and fix my cars.)

Golden,Eh? 14' of snow there one winter. Glad I was only trucking through. Huge avalanches that year just east of town at 7 mile bridge and 10 mile hill.
Guys would throw colored water balloons at the ice cliffs and then get out the ice climbing equipment and scale those puppies. Red, blue ,green, yellow and orange ice all winter long. LOL. They were nuts!!!!

i´m using just revell putty, called "plasto". one compound out of a tube. sands nicely so. made nice progress, already had the 2nd go with the putty to smooth out the holes left after the first try. had to get some finer grit sandpaper but 240, 280 and 600 seem to do the trick. more tomorrow :)
only 2" of fresh powder snow today around here ... a short walk with the blower did the trick.

Now if I can just get rid of the feeling that someone has been grinding the back of my throat with a Dremel, I'd be set. We didn't get hardly any snow... And I like it that way :D

Ted, the green stuff is a good product. If you use water to smooth it out before it sets, there will be less sanding. If you want to speed up or slow down the cure time, adjust the amount of hardener. To keep it for longer periods, after mixing, you can put it in the freezer to slow the cure process.
You probably knew that, though...

I use milliput epoxy for filling, sculpting and such. It's not as smooth, but does the job.

All the car projects, tracks layouts and timing system work is great to see!
143er, I'm jealous for the SCX 911 GTs. I wish I could get my mits on one of the UPS car.
