hey guys
nothing much to update today. spent the day at the Kansas state fair. parking is a pita, so we rode our bike since its only 12 blocks away. I did manage to get another section taped tho. anyone have any ideas on how to make sand dunes that actually look like sand dunes and not like glued sand. it takes on a very dark color after the glue sets and doesn't look right.

got a little done tonight. more hydrocal, its takes forever to shape the rock sections that you want to show through. started taping the last section, it is ready for some color but i will wait until i can do all of it

made a little progress on the track amongst all the madness of packing and preparing to move. if i didnt mention that before, yes i am moving this next weekend. i still found a little time to work on it. most of my shop is packed up, but i left out a few things to work on so i dont go crazy. anyway i have applied the basecoat on the rock faces and they are ready for the highlights
Peter it is 3/16 wide tape but it does look super wide in that pic.

I've been fooled by the tape width because your lanes are squeezed in that section of the track! Color looks great, looking forward to see more. :grin:

hey guys
got a chance to get the green basecoat down. it will get moved to its new home tomorrow night then i probably wont get to touch it for a few days until i get settled in and get to unpack the shop. i will be glad to get this move done as i have several new projects that will be arriving soon and they are stacking up on me. one of them is a 6 car set for a fellow member and i really want to get the broadspeed mini and wolseley hornet done.

I would have finished the copper tape first and already have a few (hundred) laps before i could find the patience to put down such a nice touch of green, Mickey. Great work!
