I must say that I have to agree. I know I have sent out bodies that have to be built yet and still have one of my own to finish yet. I dercreased the number of cars that I wanted to run just because of time constraints, so i can imagine the crunch for those that are waiting on parts to arrive. I am actually waiting on parts to arrive myself and had to reorder them because the order had been forgotten. No big deal however I made them myself knowing the deadline was coming soon. Anyway I am not opposed to postponing this for a bit. I would rather wait and it be totally awesome instead of rushed and totally sh#t. The more time to work on the car the better it looks and performs and you know there are always ideas that hit you last minute. Not to mention those that are still working on tracks as Bro mentioned, and we need more tracks.

I would have no problem postponing this race till fall.
BUT - there is a question to ask out loud: Are people out there who have a problem with having the first race on May 15? Will they have a car ready in fall?

My car is ready, i fixed the problem with the jumping front today and can put it in the post box. Having only few entries makes the problem with the currently high shipping fees more crucial ...

This is exactly why the original proxy split and I started this one. the rules are pretty simple and for good reason i believe. if it looks, runs, smells, acts and quacks like an 02 T/A slotcar, thats probably what it is.too many complications means more bickering and less participants.

This is my first venture into the proxy world and i am beginning to think i should just entered the cars and left it at that, not tried to put the thing together. I did this because it is something I want. A proxy for what I build. So I jumped on it and you guys have been awesome help for someone not having the first clue on how to do this. Lets keep it that way please.

Roland dont quit, i want to see those cars, i cast them, i want to see them. if you have a suggestion for the rules then just spit it out. we will get a consensus on it and move on to the next thing. The rules up top were input from everyone and agreed upon by everyone or at least the majority. that is what I have been trying to look for is what the majority is in favor of before I put it up there. So far all seem to be in favor of postponing till say Oct. Plenty of time for tracks to get finished and cars to be built

Lets get a handle on this thing now, act like the gentlemen we are and get on with it. If this thing even begins to wreak of U2 and some of the crap that I have read over there, again the fun is gone and I again want no part of it.

No one needs to be questioning or providing proof that they can build a slot car. that proof will be on the track. between this thread and the "workbench" thread I think we have all seen what is being built and what parts are being used and where they are sourced from. I think the rules pretty much cover all of those things. If there are new options available with a postponement-great- we will discuss those as well.

Just my two pennies. So. . . . . mid Oct start date anyone? yay? nay?

Any specific rules anyone has in mind to be discussed? Not just a mention of discussion but specific rules to be dealt with?

The end of winter is near guys. Get some vitamin "D" by sitting in the sun.

Rules by committee don't seem to work. Set the rules, let people decide if they want to participate and let it go. NO is a viable answer. If some of the rules do not work out, change them for next year.

A delay in the first race date is probably a good idea but keep in mind that Peter's pronomag race is run about Oct and we have the 2nd ISP/43 to run this winter also. Perhaps a 2 month delay would be good. That would make the start of the series June. If you made it near the end of the month that would add a lot of time for preparation of cars. Just a thought.

Setting up a proxy is not an easy thing Micky, Hang in there. A T/A series is a good idea.

" Lets get a handle on this thing now, act like the gentlemen we are and get on with it. If this thing even begins to wreak of U2 and some of the crap that I have read over there, again the fun is gone and I again want no part of it. "

It seems to me the U2 guys have got it together. Rules are set, first race is scheduled. Five, yes five tracks are committed, with no-one pulling out. Doesn't sound or smell like crap to me.

Cheers Ted

Gentlemen you are absolutely right- my apologies. after getting some much needed advice and friendly encouragement i think its time to get this thing set in stone. as it stands we have 3 tracks, all wood. those entered for a mag car please hold on, hopefully with this postponement we will get some mag tracks back in the line up as there were tracks that were still being completed.

I am going to schedule the first race for mid Sept. that way Peter is not trying to juggle 2 proxies at his track in the same month (work for you Peter?) all the rest will fall in about mid month or so. hopefully this will cover everyones needs for more time-if not there is always next year. The rules are set and seem to cover everything for our 1/43 scale cars.

One thing i need to determine is entry fees(shipping etc..) and a treasurer. any thoughts/suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated from the experienced proxy vets.

A little side note- this also gives me time to get some sort of timing set up. any and all suggestions for that would be greatly welcomed. being the lone racer never really had a need for an actual timing software/set up. so shoot me a pm with those ideas will ya please-thank you. Those of you that have your car(s) done sorry to make you wait. mine are done as well, just need to get the proxy winners pace car finished. the rest of you get busy, i want to see some bada$$ T/A cars.

There are plenty of us here(myself included) that can hook you up with a proper T/A resin body if you are thinking about entering-you still have time. I dont think there is an 02 T/A car that ran in that era that at least one of us doesnt have ( except for that BFG Tire Bird- damn i gotta get one of those, just a lotta$$$$$$$$$$) So if you are thinking about entering and or hosting we would love to have you.

ok guys
its about that time. mid sept is what we came up with. sad to say my track may still not be ready, but my cars are. the first race is slated for Peter's Desmo. are we still good with that? I know there are still kinks to iron out. my apologies for not tending to this sooner, I have had track vision lately trying to get it ready. questions, comments. . . . PLEASE
