Controllers and Power pack

Good afternoon,
Returning to slot cars after a 50 year hiatus! This time with my grandsons.
This is what I have:
50' Artin 1:43 track, Variable voltage Tekpower HY-1502 1-15v power supply, 2 Carerra GO cars and 2 Carerra Evolution controllers. The track is set up with 2 sets of jumpers to minimize the voltage loss. I'm not using the braking feature of the controllers, jumper'd the 2 outer terminals.
Problem:
The cars don't move until the controller is about 1/2 to 2/3rds of the way depressed and then difficult to control. I thought using the Carerra Go cars and evolution controllers would eliminate any incompatibilities like this. I could exchange the controllers for something different but not certain what I would purchase.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi ,welcome back to the fun!!
Others may have a different idea here but we use a parma 45 ohm controller. They seem to be a good general controller on every thing from artin , carrera even Jouef.I just adjust the power on the power supply for the different type cars.

welcome back, RustyJackson!

Does the problem occure when the voltage is cranked up fullty to 15V?
Normally, the Evo Controllers should work fine with go! cars.
How much amps does the power supply deliver? (oh- took a look @ google and it should deliver 2 amps - more than enough for go!cars.)

If you use only 10V or 12V than a lower resistance controller should work better, maybe OurWayBands 45 ohm suggestion will be fine.

Did you adjust the braids on the go!cars?

Peter

:text-welcomewave: Rusty!
Try Peter's ideas and Rusty hit it right. When running analog 1/43 we use 45 Ohm Parma controllers. We run at 15 volts as GO!!! is 14.8 volts. :)
