Just finished some benchwork for a new track. Phase one is a 4 ' x 14' 8" table. My son is currently trying to create a Carrera Go design. We've been out of the loop for a while but ready to get back into the hobby again. We kept it all in storage and spent this morning going through it all. Can't remember how to post pics.

Looks like it has a nice flow with a variety of corners that should make for some good racing! :)

Wow, those pics were sure worth waiting for.   . Very nicely done. Your young fellow designed the layout? How big is the table? 1 thing I found when I was using blocking, was that if the blocks were placed at the track joins that it slowed down the "fretting" on the connections. Beautiful track and looks like lots of fun.
Cheers
Randy

Thanks for the positive feedback guys. Its good to be back. We're playing around with some more layout designs and elevation changes.
Randy, the layout tables are L-shaped. Almost 15 feet on the long side. Its 4 ft wide then the bit at the end extends another 5 x 4 feet. There may be one more extension if I get the OK to put freezer in garage. :banana-dance:
Been digging through our cars. We've switched to Carrera track from Artin so we're going to need a power supply solution to run the Artins properly on the Carerra track. Our next purchase will be some mechanical switch tracks, better controllers and a variable power supply. We missed out on all the DSlot stuff. Really liked the look of those cars. Also I'm hugely impressed with the shape ways stuff I'm seeing. Nicely done Peter!

Thanks Chuck. He tells me that his hours of grand tourismo video games have given him a feel for track design. In a year and a couple of months he'll be road legal. He's a car nut. Not sure where he gets that from
