The first drag race was way back in 2005,
We have run races after that,but that was the 1st.
Guys,if your interested I just traded for a timing system for the strip.
The one I received had a bad sensor,but that has been taken care of.
Ordered a new one.. ;)
If any one is interested, thought we might try to get a drag race going.
Thinking about sometime around the 1st of November..

Changing up the 1st class.Was correctly suggested the first two classes
were too close to the same.

Three classes .

Stock..
Must be stock 1/43 slot car stock chassis
Stock body,a 1/43 scale plastic body..No clear bodies, etc..
Stock tires,wheels,guide,etc..
(Doing this so any one can run a car if they want.
In a sense all you can change is the body)

Pro stock..
Any stock 1/43 slot car chassis,Artin,carrera scx,etc..
Can be stretched..
Some type of 1/43 size body,clear painted,plastic,etc...
Chassis must have stock 1/43 slot car motor and gearing..
Any type wheels ,guide,and tires....

Top Fuel..
Anything goes.
Must be 1/43 scale..

We will be running on some vintage Strombecker track copper taped.
Will be running up to 18 volts,with 1.5 amps per lane..
Mags may help,but they may hurt....Up to the racer..
From what I've seen light mags help with the traction..
Will use a slotcardragon timing system..
Any interest let me know.

Guys I've had questions about the rules.
The rules are just guides.
We will not measure any thing.
As long as they look 1/43,
that is good enough.They can be 1/40 ,etc.
Just didn't want someone entering a 1/32 car.
Trying to promote 1/43 scale.
Pro stock is kinda open.Just wanted folks to be able to
run stock motors and gearing so that most could compete in this class.
See no reason why one couldn't change out motors from one to another.
We want it open to all racers,no mater what their skill in building.
This is all about fun.We have had a few drags and have never shut down a car due to rules..

I am a 1/32 guy, so I don't know much about the 1/43 offerings other than I think I have a Carrera Go! stock car chassis kicking around here somewhere...
A question regarding the Stock class - is there a particular vendor for that class - or is it any stock 1/43?
Also, since I don't know anything about these critters (but about to learn) - is there a vendor's chassis that is kind of the go to for the stock stuff (gearing / motor wise?) I guess what I am asking is, assuming I have to go out and snag a car for this - I don't want to pick up a chassis that is known to be notably slower.
Any insight would be appreciated guys! :D
