radius of turns

I need advise.
What do the wood track builders think is the smallest useful radius of curves ( slot ) for a 43rd scale track?
I don´t like turns which are so tight that the car has to be braked almost down to zero to get around, and I´m not into more drifting than absolutely necessary.

I don't know about 1/43 scale, but for 1/32 I wouldn't go less than an 8" radius.

radius 50mm is really tight and with a slot width of 3mm, long guides will block.
r80 is no problem for all cars, but it depends what you will think of "brake totally". Even 1/43rd school busses do these turns without problems.
r140 is already quite fast.
always depending on the length of straight before the turn ...
if you´re interested, I could take a short video of cars through those turns.

My question originates in the turns to be seen at many downhill tracks. These very often are so tight that you - as I wrote - have to brake down almost to zero to be able to go round them. On videos you often see the cars stumbling through instead of rolling.
As to your offer to take short cutscene - this would be more than I could have ventured to expect.
Thank you !

I race on Carrera 1/43d track and the R1 radius turns can be negotiated without "almost coming to a stop". Any tighter would be ridiculous as well as boring. The same with wood would be great.
Just my opinion.

I agree with Chuck. The GO! R-1's can be negotiated at a decent speed. They are not like some of the R1's in 1/32 like Ninco!

Thanks, but to know the radius would be better than the designation. I don´t use GO! at all.
I have just tried to find it at Google but in vain. Of course I did not check some hundred sites...

Once in German, now once more in English - thank you very much. Now everything is clear.

Yeah, that one turn on the Desmo is about the fastest/tightest turn I have seen, but perfectly so! Yeah, you hafta slow down a lot, but the flow is nice! :auto-checkeredflag:
