Scratch Built McLaren M8

Not sure if this should go in this forum or the scratchbuilders forum, but it is 1/43 so I will stick it here.

Here is a McLaren M8 sitting on one of my credit card chassis. it has full interior with driver body, guide flag and sits low to the ground. I need to vacuum form some windshields. It is on the, "To Do" list

Totally agree with you Dan!

Your work shows what can be done in 1/43 scale slotcar racing.

It is great to see some new 1/43 scratchbuilding talent coming along!

Many of the 1/43 proxy races are held on 1/32 tracks, both wood and plastic, and these little cars look great and go very well on them.

I use old credit cards and build chassis out of them. I use a small can motor about half the size of the motors in GO cars. In a sidewinder, or anglewinder configuration I have enough room to do full interiors on open cockpit cars. Thanks for the kind words. New to this forum and 1/43 scale I have been a modeler for a lot of years. I am just using the skills I picked up along the way and channeling them into 1/43 scale.

I'm intrigued by both your McLaren and Cayman builds. I saw the photo of your credit card chassis in the Cayman thread, and hope that you'll share some more photos and details about the motor and chassis. With all of the great diecasts and diorama items that are available in 1/43, it seems like this scale is a good fit for highly detailed slot cars as well.

I am going to be building a chassis for the No mag in the next couple of days. I will take some pictures and try and do a build thread. It is a work in process with each new one being slightly different then the last.
