Between work and weather I found time to get up and running again

Built the table and painted it on MLK day.


Laid down the track this morning, stayed home with a sick kid today


Tacked up some temporary barrier walls, now we can play!!

Wiring everything, and installing borders this weekend, so it should look nice and tight. Need to stare at it for a while and sip a few beverages to figure out scenery...

Looks like you are off to a good start. Keep us posted on the progress. I just love seeing new tracks coming to life.

Thanks all, testing is fun for sure! Gotta get borders though, not the same without. Worked out to even lanes so that was a bonus, and longer than the L track as well. Now we can move around more comfortably and have more than 2 people standing in each other's way in the room! F1 cars should be here tomorrow for some test laps, right now lap times are in the low 4's with a couple scx and dslots breaking into the 3's. Can't wait to wire it up and get the DS system going!

Peter, those under 4 second laps were few and far between! That middle section will eat you up if you get the throttle timing wrong, so much fun! The wife and I were at it till about 1am last night.

Changed the layout, got rid of some problem areas and made something that flowed better

Tested after I got the borders done and some temporary walls installed. 1/32's run fine from big to small, and the 1/43's are loving life right now!

Now just need to drill some holes for wiring and figure out a guardrail situation before the scenery goes up.

Thanks, debating trying to make some rails/walls or thinking of sizing up some scalextric guard rails to see if they'll work. Also debating where to place controller hook ups? Top front corners or straight out the 1x8 on the front, going to install a shelf for the DS to sit on so maybe on either side?
