Artin track and guide flags

Ok I bought some of pfutz wire guide, guide flags. I checked them against my track and the are really tall. Like I'd have to remove half of the keel to get contact to the rails. So if I cut them down will I have issues when I finally finish routing a wood track? Or should I keep some for swapping out to run other tracks?

Thanks

The Artin Track has a shallow slot. You may want to keep some stock for other tracks. If your going wood they should work great..

Is there a better flag for the artin track? I might just keep these for my wood only racers.

Thanks

The Artin slot is 63 mm deep and should take most rtr cars . Anything with a wood guide will need to be made shallower to lower the car into the slot.
I measure once the braids are Installed as they do take up a bit of the guides depth.

for artin track, i would say cut them down.
you can also try SlideGuides from http://www.hOracepro.com - they work great on artin track.
if you want to go wood - that what these guides have been designed for (or carrera/SCX track, which has a deeper slot).

with the cut down guide, they can still be run on wood track and still work good.
why are these guides deeper than others? if you ´re going really fast into a turn, in fact a little bit too fast, the deeper guide will help to keep the car in the slot. Also, the deeper the guide goes into the slot, the more stable it is, doesn´t allow much movement, which is what you´re looking for.
