Carrera Go controller

I work with a guy who has a Carrera go set up. He wants to get some Artin cars to run on it but they seem not to work. The E-bay description said to bypass the resistor in the terminal unit and replace the controller with a regular, non-turbo button controller. I actually do not like the turbo button so this seems like a good idea anyhow.

My question is about replacing the controller.

Is there an affordable direct plug in controller for the Go system?

Can someone direct me to instructions on how to do this?

He does not have a lot of money. A $150 controller is out of the question. He will also not do really well with something complicated. I do try to make his system the best I can, he really loves running it but Artin makes motorcycles and he simply has to have them.

Thanks in advance!

1/43 is truly a builders scale. There is little to no aftermarket support. The Artin cars require a 15 ohm controller and draw approx double the amperage of a go car. The most reasonably priced controller is the parma econo if you can find a source for them, but they are not a direct plug in. Here's a link to my latest attempt to solve this problem.

artin also requires way less voltage - 6 to 7.5 (if you tune them, up to 12V, lights die fast)
artin - 15 ohm
go! without turbo - 60 ohms
you will need 2 different power supplies and 2 different pairs of controllers.
different power supplies can be avoided by adjustable power supplies ((search for step-down voltage regulator on amazon for expample)
i really like parma eco controllers, for go! (60 ohm) and for Artin (15ohm)

Just a thought. What about a motor swap on the Artins? If the motorcycles are powered the same as a regular Artin 1/43 they would have an FC 130 Motor.

You can usually find parmas on the bay for around$25 and a tattoo power supply for $30ish, not a bad investment. Then cut your ends off your powerbase and controllers, solder the new stuff on... Boom direct plug ins!
