That's pretty cool Lloyd. How "portable" is it?

When you say 'in a paste table', do you mean on the inside where the legs used to be?

Also,did you do the routing on separate pieces of board, or did you use the top of the table?

Thanks for the replies, the track is made of hardboard, I think this may be known as fibreboard in the US, and is inside the table where the legs usually fold into.



The track does add some weight, but it is easy to carry one handed when folded.

I use this very old model railroad controller to supply the power as the voltage can be adjusted easily, as can the direction of travel:

The trackpieces were cut out using a jigsaw before gluing in place.

Hay Lloyd do you have a step by step picture guide? If so, could you post it in the building Tips page please.

That is a nice piece of work you did and are those cars resin in the last pic and if so could you tell us where you got them and dose the person sell to those of us in the states?

Hello Rex, I am sorry but I didnt take any photos when I made it as it was really just a test piece to try out the idea. I have a bigger, routed, rally track, but wanted something that I could take out to show 1/43 rallying to a wider audience. The track is simply thin hardboard which was cut out using a jigsaw and then glued in place with PVA glue.

The bodyshells were put there to help me find which areas the cars dont run on when going around so that I can add scenery. They are some of the ones I make myself to make my rally cars, but there are some racing cars as well. They are mainly European types and are mainly for my own use, but I am happy to supply any if asked. I make them in the shed which is too cold at this time of year, so it may be a while before I can make any more.
