1/43 Le Mans car proxy?

I am sounding out interest in a 1/43 Le Mans car proxy for 2019. I have in mind that it would be open to any car that has ever competed at Le Mans.

I am redoing my Little 'Snett' track in routed wood and intend to have it ready in time to take it to Gaydon in May, and maybe even run the proxy there..

If there is enough interest, it could possibly lead to it being a series on different tracks in other countries.

Who wants in?

Regards, Lloyd.

Sounds interesting to me, I have some cars that might fit in.
Do you have any thoughts on type of cars allowed? Stock or scratch built, etc?

Hello Mike, all will be allowed if they are of a type that competed at Le Mans.

Most of the tracks involved will be routed and have copper tape, so magnets will not work, so urethane tyres will be needed.

Regards, Lloyd.

Cool, sounds like fun. I’d be interested.
Love Le Mans style racing.

Unfortunately they will not be 24 hour races, but it should be fun!

I definitely want to encourage some new people to have a go, so you would be welcome to enter.

As the first round looks like being in May, I will be publishing the rules very soon, and they will be kept as simple as possible..

Regards, Lloyd.

I have a Carrera Viper in a box some where but would need help to bring it up to speed.
I will need to read older posts to see what works and what doesn't

The Viper would be good Austin. The only alterations needed would be ti fit a swivel guide and urethane back tires to make it competative.

I will find sutable links for you and post them later.

sounds like a great idea, Lloyd!

I´m in and if this will not be a single race, but a race series, i could host a leg on the Desmo if the entrants and you like that ...

I'm in, too. I love Le Mans.

And I could host a leg on my no name track, too. Both courses of course, oval and road.
And if the electrical points are ready I could even combine both courses to one.

That would be great Dan, as you say, you have plenty of suitable cars already.

As it looks like we have 1 race in Canada, would you be interested in hosting one as well?

PS, still finishing casting your resin shells before I send them, should leave here early next week.

Regards, Lloyd.
