I tried the same setup in a Scaley 1/32 Audi with an MRC red can motor can't remember the rpm rating but it was a monster, car was insane crazy to drive but a blast at the same time. With four wheel drive and no give between the front and rear axles it would either spin all four tires and explode with acceleration out of a corner or go into very bad wheel hop, think Ninco hop times times ten. Hope yours turns out better I think mine was way over powered and never did try a smaller motor in it. Its now pit area scenery as the motor has been traded, maybe I'll revisit it with a smaller motor.

You would need a differential on the front wheels to eliminate the wheel hop in the corners.

On most 4X4 the front gear ratio is a bit faster than the rear gear ratio so you need to count the pinion and crown teeth and see if you have a pinion that has less teeth count for the front.
The rear gear set like wise for the crown gear REMEMBER the higher the count of teeth = a slower gear set, and for the front gear set you'll need less teeth so REMEMBER the lower teeth count = faster gear set, So in the front you'll need a 8 tooth pinion and 10 tooth count crown roughly. The less time it takes the pinion and crown gear set to make one full turn than the rear gear set the faster the gear set.

Say it takes the pinion 4 turns and the crown 10 turns of the tire to make one full turn of the gear set that would give you a 4 to 1 ratio, like wise if the turn is less that equals a faster gear set.

Hope this helps you out when you run your 4X4 and experience wheel hop.

Racer good comment on the gear ratios, my car ran 9/28 on both ends and the same wheel and tire combo on both ends (all 4 wheels run the same speed). I think the issues with my car related more to it being overpowered and all four tires locked together in the driveline. The only 4x4 factory car I've seen in front of me was a Scaley, they used an oring from the drive on the rear axle to drive the front axle thus providing a differential effect from axle to axle. Don't let my experience discourage a build you just have to put the time in working out the bugs, I haven't givin up on mine!

I work on the this car all last night. Until about three In morning Now I know that I got font gear ratio the same as the rear. I cut to Fast Lane chassis in half.so I could used to rear end wheel base I epoxy rear end together I pulled the grown gear off of two motors so gear would be same i had to find tall tires so wheel would set flat on the track it run's real good :banana-rock: :banana-rock: :banana-rock: :banana-rock: :banana-rock:

Yes they are go dune buggy tires they set high keep truck up the braid don't drag all four wheel set flat
