1/43 scale Resin or injection molded bodies, based on cars participating n the 1966-'72 TA seasons.(Under 2 liter class)
Cars' appearance should be in the spirit of the time. No tires protruding from wheel-wells.
Fender flares are allowed, but not to exceed 20% increase in overall width over the original car.
Livery / Markings: Fantasy liveries welcome, but try for a period look. Numbers to be placed on cars in the traditional positions (Hood, doors, (optional) rear deck)
In case of duplicate numbers, please mark your cars so we know who they belong to.
Interiors: Optional, but lack of interior will take a hit in the concours,
Concours: Beauty pageant (to be worked out)
Chassis: Open
Motor: Open
Gearing: Open
Tires Urethane or rubber, no silicone tires
Nothing leaking from cars to pollute the tracks.
Guide: Guide should be completely under car
An optical timing system will be used at Groom lake Circuit. Two sets of laps for each car, a set of laps in each direction, since there is only one lane.
Multi-lane circuits: Each car will run two sets of laps in two different lanes. Lanes (Lane #1, and Lane #3, for example)
Series will be scored using the F1 scoring system
If you want to enter an individual event, not the series, you may. An individual entrant's place in the race will be "unofficial" so as not to mess up the series scoring. The individual entrant's standings in the particular race entered will be published in that races results, but will *not* be published in the overall statistics. They will not be eligible for the Concours.
We haven't pinned down when or how prizes will be awarded, so I'd like to suggest this: Each race has a set first prize (Or 3 prizes for the podium) That way if an individual entrant does finish in the money, He or she gets a little something. Then at the end of the series, we can have the usual, always fun, prize picking thread.
Groom Lake event will be sponsored by Immense Miniatures.Immense Miniatures on Facebook There will be prizes. Stay tuned for other events and other sponsors.
Race 1: May 17-19, 2013. Groom Lake Circuit. United States

i think a series scoring system would add to the fun, we could use the one from the last SlotCarKing-Cup maybe, if we can find it.
If this is a series and all cars are shipped together between the events, the shipping costs will be much lower when going over the pond.

I agree with Peter. A series would be fun and save on shipping if multiple tracks are being used on both sides of the pond.
The F1 scoring system works well also. One race every month at every track entered could even be enough time for the car to be sent home if repairs are needed ?
I would be happy if there is one race at one track to get this started.
How many cars are we allowed to enter? 2?
Cheers Ted

I agree that a series scoring system is the best way to go, but the cars should stay together. Sending them home after each race would be costly and complicated for the persons running each race. A car should hold together for even a 10 race series with no problems.
When the small bore T/A series was suggested, 4 was the maximum entry per person, does this still stand?
Will there still be separate magnet/non magnet classes?
Regards, Lloyd

Good points and questions. AS far as a maximum number of cars allowed, 4 seems reasonable and generous. How about this:
Patricipants can enter up to four cars in the series in any combination of mag and non-mag. Entry fee is $XXX USD per car
Lloyd, if we get a venue with plastic track or magna-braid, we'll have a mag class. If all the venues are wood tracks with copper tape, there will be nowhere to run the mag cars.
Would one of you gents post a summary of the F1 scoring system?
Seems like the cars should stay together, but if one is damaged, or needs attention a participant can request it be sent back between races.
Last proxy I entered, Masmojo fixed the stripped pinion on my Cobra between Peter's and Ted's events to save time and postage.
Thanks again, Mas :)

The top ten finishers in each Grand Prix score points towards both the drivers’ and the constructors’ world championships, according to the following scale:
1st : 25 points
2nd : 18 points
3rd : 15 points
4th : 12 points
5th : 10 points
6th : 8 points
7th : 6 points
8th : 4 points
9th : 2 points
10th : 1 point

Thanks Chuck!
Loyd.... Smart guy eh :D :D
I know an entry fee will need to be settled upon at some point. If it's a couple heats in North America, fee would be lower than a globe-trotting affair. US postage rates have gone up, and if i recall correctly, Peter had to pay some pretty outrageous prices out of Austria. Don't want the hosts to be left with a giant postage bill if we can help it..

I would like to see the races held as individual events. As a newbie, I would like to be able to choose the events to enter. Also, I would be able to tune my cars and/or enter a new one if necessary. As far as shipping goes, I would gladly include return shipping for each race. I spend more in entry fees at the local track.

i volunteer for race #2, June 15.
I hope the customs will not delay the package, but with a clear custom definition, this should be no problem!
My opinion on the series/individual events:
Overall this should be a series, all the cars stay together, only in case of DNF, the car will be shipped back. Shipping back the car could also be possible on the clear request of the car owner. In this case, the car owner has to pay the shipping costs from host and back to next host additional to the series entry fee. Car owner is reponsible for in-time shipping to the next race event. Next race will run with or without the back-home-requested-car. Normally shipping to/from US/Europe is done in 7 to 10 days, so there should be enough time.

We might be able to do both. (This is just a proposal)

How many races are going to be in the series? In theory, with the current point system, one could enter 2 races out of 4 and have enough points to win the series. However, because he doesn't enter all races, he is Dq'd from the results.
