Do you want a quicker motor?
Maybe one of the 1/32 slim style F1 motors could fit?
to be honest, i don´t know.
Maybe someone has some G9330 left, that would be quicker for sure.
Did you fire one up with too much magnets added?

the G9330 is still available @ electronic goldmine!
which chassis? are you looking for a direct replacement? i would have to look if the Hemi of 1/43rd would fit into a stock DSlot chassis ...
interesting thought so

okay, worth a try! i got a unused one in the basement, the very first prototype for a 962. i think the endbell of the G9330 has to be modified a little - or even easier - modifying the chassis to accept the G9330.
will take a look, but i think it will be friday till that. now time for bed around here!
cheers,
puddle dude

one last thought - what about a screwed motor mount? 2 screws in the front, with a kind of bridge, closed motor mount in the back. just to get controll of the power of this beast ...

Frying the motor is the least problem, Bill. At 17V they would be too fast. Slotcarnews had them on the dyno - 38000rpm@12V ...
I think cjent and hoos had those motors running at 16V witbout troubles.

The G9330 is still out there, although I quit carrying it for lack of sales. Get them at The Electronic Goldmine.
I still have some cars with the motor and they are FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They run fine at 16V but you better be ready to concentrate and have your driving skills up to snuff. :o I have one in a HotLaps chassis and old LMP body that has never been beat.
Definitely not a "snap fit" in any chassis running now.

I was playing with a G9330 chassis. Haven't run it yet, was considering it for a 1/32 micro car like a Subaru 360. Short-legged gearing like 8/36 or similar.

maybe, when i find a little time, i could adept the kyosho chassis to fit the G9330, should not be a big job - BUT- which gears to use? Which axles and bearings?
Magnet or no magnet - i´m sure Bill will vote for magnet ...
Marc, very interesting chassis, but for that power of the G9330, i´m not too sure if the chassis is strong enough. Did you plan a magnet pocket? Without magnet, it could work. good to see you changed the metall pinion of the G9330 (also known as the crown eater) to a plastic one.

That pinion is of no known pitch :) The motor mount bulkhead / rear axle holder could be beefed up, although it is reinforced with 4 steel rods :shhh: . That's where all the torque would be happening.
No magnet pocket with the current design. But which magnet to allow for?
