Even with the basement finished, you could make a portable track that you can take out and race on. I wouldn't give up so easy!

There's no space so small you can't fit some kind of track in it.
OK, you've got to finish the basement - it'll need some bookshelves,won't it?- what's going to go on top of them? - a long narrow track perhaps?
There's always a way. Don't do anything rash when you've put in so much effort.

As much as I wouldn't mind acquiring some nice cars, I have to agree with the no sale crowd. You can always get creative on where you 'hide' a track too: fold up on wall, rising into ceiling, under a bed or couch, etc.
