hey guys
it would seem that the water pipe that runs up the north wall of my slot room and feeds the bath above cracked and sprayed a fine mist over the north 4-5 ft of my track while I was at work yesterday. :angry-banghead: :angry-screaming: :angry-cussingblack: :angry-jumpinganger: :angry-fire: :angry-teeth: did I mention :angry-steamingears: :angry-steamingears: :angry-steamingears: :angry-steamingears: :angry-fire: :angry-fire: :angry-fire: despite all the paint, poly, gallons of glue and scenery-the half inch mdf is now roughly an inch thick. I have a t/a proxy looming in the not too distant future, so now I am out as a host. . . . for now. there is a snowballs chance in hell this will pass me by. the wrecking crew, ie. me and a cordless and a bfh will remove it this weekend. the water line has been repaired and shrouded to prevent a repeat. 4 sheets of mdf were picked up on the way home and have a new track plan in mind. so at least I should have working lanes sans some scenery when it comes my turn. THIS SUCKS :angry-cussingblack: :angry-cussingblack:

Man that is rough. I worry about that too as both tracks are in water shut off areas. Good luck with the rebuild. Jim

Bad news!
For what its worth, I've seen MDF return to approximate shape days after some water exposure - but I guess it really depends on the amount of moisture it is exposed to.

Wow........... I guess maybe living in a no basement part of the US is not so bad.

That's very bad luck, but the positive is that you can make any little improvements you want on the rebuild. Good luck with getting it sorted!

it hurts for sure to see such a nice track being destroyed!

I am a little happier now. the insurance lady gave me a check for some of the water damage- sheetrock, ceiling tiles etc.. actually I am now excited about a new track. true I can fix some of the problems that track had. It was way too technical for my taste, short back straight with a kink, hairpins and 18 inch turns. this one will be fast and free flowing, long front straight, no hairpins and 42 inch turns without all that other busy stuff going on around it. just track and landscape. got the new one drawn up and ready to start routing. still its a serious p.i.t.a. but kind of good thing too.

Dang! That stinks! You can rebuild it! Even better!
