Hello All;

My name is Ron and I am a new member here. I have been lurking for quite a while and gaining knowledge and enjoying the work everyone else is doing. One of the reasons I have joined is because I have kids, and they love tinkering and building and just well "playing" and stuff like that a year ago I bought my nephews an HO scale race track (growing up I had the train/slot car track combo and while I still have my train (spirit of 76 original) and a bachman....I no longer have my race track the jeep CJ7 with the "flexi" track....

It's time for the nephews to get a new set up and I have been looking at the carrera analog 1/43 sets and cars one of them is still on the younger end (8) so I have been looking at the Disney pixar set ups.....I have been looking for reviews and such and from all the reading and looking I was looking to see if anyone else has any input on going with the 1/43 for them....I was thinking to getting some 1/32 and seeing if I can find a CNC router set up for a wooden track for myself.

Any help or input would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to HRW Ron!! 1/43 is a great scale to introduce folks to the great hobby of slot cars.The carrera runs pretty well out of the box,not too expensive and just plain fun.We run some 1/43 stuff along with 1/32 and 1/24.No matter what the scale,it is all about the fun.You will get some great comments and ideas from the folks on this board.

My girls started racing at 7 with the 1\32 and we never looked back, the carrera and Scally nascars are a great way to get started, and if more than 2 are going to race you may want to look into digital.

some great sets out there whatever you get thry will love it I am sure

carrera makes some nice cars in the go!series, which run great and look good. Big plus - they are crash resistant!
and scx maybe comes back with some cars as well - which run even better and have a rotating guide. And if you want some really great cars - take a look at the DSlots.

As HH pointed out, I have a Carrera "store", as well as DSlot43 and SCX if they come back to 1/43d. My website link is below and I would like to earn your business.
I got back into slots in 2004 when my wife bought me 2 Carrera GO!!! sets and a year later started the online business. Carrera has the best track and most reliable cars, with DSlot43 by Kyosho complementing the lineup.
