" To pass the Caddy would be a big disgrace"
Beep Beep The Playmates
and as "unique" as the Gremlin was it still had a ways to go to get DOWN to the Pacer's level.

Shirley Shahan use to drag race one back in 71,3 guys from down in georgia took their 401 GREMLINS bored em out to 420cu.in. took them to an 1/8 mile drag strip and all 3 of them turned in the low 6s on pump gas!,these were great lil cars, they came out in 1970 and were discontinued in 78,think about the chevy VEGAS they were great, chevettes well maybe not to great but were fun to drive! I took a pinto station wagon one time on a trade,I just parked around the shop in case anyone in the family had car trouble there it was,I thought I was gonna havta take a cutting torch to it and bury it,it just ran and ran, then one summer we had a storm and a tree blew on it,felt like I had lost a good friend! :laughing-rolling:

A buddy of mine bought 1 brand new in 1975, 304, 3spd stick. While the car had it's share of issues he was still driving it in 1987-88. I remember a summer around 1976-77 a group of us went down to a music festival held on a reservation about 75mi . south of our town. As soon as he got on the res he turned the thing loose for about 15min doing donuts in the middle of the field. All you could see was this big black dust cloud with the occasional flash of red car and a huge white toothy grin when he got near the edge of the dust cloud.

I also asked if he was going to do a pinto too.
