Hello folks, just wanted to share my new track. Its been built on a 6ft,10inches by 3 feet, 1/2 inch plywood door. I used foam board to level the infill areas with the track. The track has been painted with grey primer mixed with chinchilla sand for a textured surface. The barriers are a mixture of Carrera Go and home made card board/paper items. Its designed to be portable, well kind of. All in all its very modest and compared to a lot of tracks on here a bit amateurish. Flickr pictures are below;

I would say it looks great. I really like how you leveled the areas. Honestly, I had too look twice as I thought you routed it.

Awesome work!
The way the plastic track sits in the foam board/plywood looks great, much like routed. Also the paint work on the track makes it look really nice.
Great job well done!
Did you use mechanical lane changers for your track?
Peter

Thanks very much for all the positive comments folks. Peter the lane changers are automatic, they change when the car goes over them. I was a bit disappointed with this feature as when I bought them I thought you could change them yourself. Ah well. Next thing to do is change the stock controllers as they are really bad and Ive got some Parma Economy ones on order. I went for the 60 ohm ones and hope Ive made the right choice. The cars are stock Carrera Go but I plan on running them without magnets. Ive made some mods to the Mini to get it to run better without magnets, added weight front and rear, dribbled super glue into the rear axle holes to get rid of the slop, trued the wheels and glued and trued the tyres. Ive also filed the guide down to stop it jamming. All of these tips were learnt on here from all you expert folk so a big thank you to one and all.
