Up till now I have always used a tooth pick to smooth the foil down with, but intend to try the cotton bud next time.

I gots a question. I picked some up to try. Have you ever had any problem with it pulling up the paint when you remove excess?

I'm afraid I still hate the stuff. I don't have any issues on the likes of trim around windows. But anything with more complex curves and deeper curves like bumpers and grills drives me bonkers!
One thing that I would mention. When removing the foil from the sheet, don't pull it back on itself as pictured. Sometimes those micro creases can be impossible to remove. They also seem to cause weaknesses in the foil.

Thank you for posting that tutorial. I didnt think it was a specific material. I thought people were using tinfoil, like you get for wrapping food. Im going to give this a go.
