What Ohm Controller do you use?

Now I know from my old days of wing car racing you need to set the car and controller for the track type.
I have a Carrera (SP?) 1/43 track for the kids and the controllers are JUNK. So I have a bunch of resistors and Parma parts (Use to make my own back in the late 80's)laying around to make 2 controllers but I only have 4 to .8 ohm resistors.
Are you guys using somewhere between 15 and 45 ohm?
Thanks!

45 ohms are a little tricky, they only work good on good running cars, like F1. 60 ohms are better.
The stock Go!controller has a turbo button and 3 wires. The 3rd wire bypasses a resistor in the track power piece. If you want to use parma controllers or others, you need to bypass that resistor in the track power piece.

I have only 45 ohm Parma controllers, wired for brakes, that I use on my Carrera GO and routed tracks.
I do not use traction magnets and, especially on the Carrera GO track, I feel that a 60, or even 70 ohm, controller would make the cars easier to control, so they are on my shopping list!

I'm using 45's on Go track with Go, SCX, and Dslot. Love the response.

I have 45Ω, a 60Ω and a 90Ω controllers. I use the 60 most of the time This is on a copper-taped wood track w/ variable voltage. I am no ace driver, it should be noted :violin:

Thanks Roland, I was under the impression that by using 2 resistances you lowererd the ohms rating, I want to increase mine. Do you know of any links showing how this is done?

@Chuck - you are right, but that will be for good drivers and well tuned cars, right!
@Lloyd - i made switchable controllers with parallel resistors. My most beloved controllers are the 90 ohm parma eco, switchable to 75 and 60 ohm, than i got 45/35/25 and 15/11/8. Did not need any other.
And yes, controller needs differ from track to track, surface to surface and very much to the personnel preferences.

wOW! 60 ohm? I used to use those for HO racin.
Looks like I have to order some soon!
Thanks!
