anyone got a good idea how to remove tires from rims? i used CA glue on those PU tires to glue them to the plastic rims of ths SCX DTM cars.

the only thing to start that i figured out are fingers anf fingernails. the last little scraps with the cutter and sandpaper?

I think there was too much CA on the rim Peter. I use two tiny spots on opposite sides of the rim, and these can usually be removed quite easily with a scalpel or craft knife.

With aluminium rims you might use Acetone...

Yeah, soak the rims and tires in a sealed can with acetone or fingernail polish remover to desolve the CA. Old RC trick.

@Lloyd: i prefer to glue the full (inner) surface of the tires to the rims, as Arkay already wrote, this is way better for perfomance. Once i let a SCX DTM spin it´s tires free @12V - you can see the tires lifting from the rim if you watch closely!

@SilentWolv: as those rims are plastic rims, soaking them is maybe not a good idea!

Most hobby stores sell a CA remover!

will it work with the plastic rims?

I use rubbing alcohol, 90%.
