Guys and Gals,thinking on doing another proxy drag race at the possum.
Any interest?
Thinking of about the same as last year.
Pro Stock --- any 1/43 stock chassis,motor,gears.Any body,tire,wheels.Mag,or no mag,up to you..
Top Fuel--anything goes,just has to be about 1/43 with 1/43 type body..
We will be running on plastic track .Either artin 1/32 or newer SCX 1/32 type track.
Adjustable power supply..In other words,plenty of juice..

That would be cool Rusty! I got my Dart collecting dust, I need to install some wheelie bars still. This will be my motivation to install them.

I have that US Army Pro Stocker just sitting. Maybe I can find time to resurrect it!

Hello Rusty,
The Tuners Dlight event is set for Aug 15, 16, 17 over on Nitroslots. I started there a few years back in HO size and spent over $1000 getting a custom made track, timing system and remodeling the room. Hosted a race and it was a learning curve for me. Had issues in getting a crew together for additional races. Disappointing to say the least but I also felt something was missing from the fun. It dawned on me that I came from the 1960 era when slots were big and most in my area were scratch building 1/32 and 1/24. That is whats been missing for me! I did not have the room for those scales so I looked at 1/43. I was hooked! As you know I built a 1/43 track with recessed braid and it is very smooth and quick! The gentleman who has Nitroslots became interested in the size and will be racing in August. So it was a natural to set the race up there. It will be a slow start but in time it will get larger.
I made a few posts on HRW regarding my track and a race in August. I thought for sure members of HRW that wanted to drag race 1/43 would contact me through Nitroslots but nothing!! Also thought Mick would offer a casting or two to promote his products as he recently has with your race.

Anyway for those interested the race in August will be 100% stock Artin - only thing allowed will be the truing of wheels and tires. Being this is the first race the reason was to start simple and inexpensive and gain some experience. From there we can introduce more classes.

I also plan to post pictures and results of the race on HRW however this is going to cause a firestorm between websites then the fix very easy. I will go away from HRW and stay with Nitroslots.

TO me this is a hobby and I intend on enjoying it - - - - --

Sounds like a great race set up Alan.We will set up the Hollar race so that it will in no way interfere with yours.I too started out in HO ,had fun,but then found the larger scales..Please keep us posted here on HRW as we need all the fun that we can have with these little dragsters.

Thanks Rusty. Between your track and mine we could have races all though the year. Perhaps 1 a quarter!

I do not know if you know this gentleman or not but his name is Alfred Whiteside. He had a very strong 1/43 drag racing following a few years back. He had to back out for heath reasons I think but is good now. He will be coming up to visit my track shortly as he is about 1 hour south of me. He is a power house of knowledge on the 1/43 size and he still overs over 100 different clear bodies!

Yes sir we do know of him.Great guy and really loves his dragsters.He had a great track set up with custom made scoring,tree etc.Glad he is doing better.I've had some of his bodies over the years,great for drag racing.I think Hoos has a couple of custom builds that Alfred did.Very fast,very cool..Tell him the boys on HRW said howdy.
