Crazy Idea..James Bond,Hazard layout

Well I just get crazy ideas....as most of you know. :) I've always like the concept of the Gilbert James Bond road race set that came out in the 60's.It was about 1/43 scale and a total fail as far as sells and it functioning as it should. But it was all Bond.
I've also always liked the jumps on the ol' ideal, and now Auto world Dukes of Hazard HO sets. But I like the way the 1/43 cars run and run with little maintenance on the track..So,why not build a combo track with the road course, jump, hill climb and try to get it in a decent size space in 1/43 ? I've just about have the custom made jump completed..We will see how this works out....

great idea, Rusty, but please, don´t use that nice Carrera DB5 for jumps! It´s way too nice for that kind of racing ;)

I don't think it's crazy at all. I have an idea for an Indiana Jones themed layout. Basically a "chase" type of track, where the vehicles have to race each other to be the first across the one lane bridge, the narrow ledge etc. Of course it would have several of the iconic scenes from the movies & the cars/trucks would be of the correct era & so on. Go for it! : )

hey big thanks guys!!
pfuetze, your right..I got to looking the bond car over, just too much to break. But it will be on the layout and
ran by me when no one else is looking.. ;) One can still get nos of the gilbert cars from a supplier that bought out the ol stock years ago. They are just the shells, but one could customize..
Man masmojo,I love that layout..I don't think I ever saw it in a full picture like that.Great job!!
downtowndeco, thanks for the encouragement.Your builds along with some of the other folks here are what inspires us..
That Indiana Jones layout would be a perfect fun layout..

Well Just about have the layout mapped out.Hopping to get her all on a 36inch hollow door.Starting to get in some of the vintage NOS pieces made by Gilbert back in the day.The DB5 is just the hull.I'll have to come up with bumpers, glass, and of course the bullet shield.Hopping to find some 1/43 chassis to fit these little cars..
