Round 1 Results

After a heated battle and some surprises, the following is the results of Round 1 in the Stock Class.. Racing data for each lane will be posted tomorrow for both classes.

STOCK CLASS RESULTS.

POSITION CAR LAPS POINTS

1 #21 IDLE TIME RACING 86.3 13
2 #13 BEAST LEE 85.5 12
3 #18 RACER 944 84.9 11
4 #8 8WHEELS 84.3 10
5 #15 MIDAGEKID1 (STOCK) 83.3 9
6 #37 TIN_INDIANS 81.9 8
7 #14 RACER944 80.5 7
8 #25 SLOT GT 80.3 6
9 #1 ARROLDN 79.7 5
10 #66 DEWMAN51 78 4
11 #35 ALOHA 77.9 3
12 #77 DIGITAL SPRINGER 76.5 2
13 #62 PEPSI 62 23.5 1

There was plenty of heated action between these 13 cars and surprises in the stock class: #62 (Pepsi 62) had one successful heat with 16 laps and only 7 laps in the second heat due to a rear wheel malfunction which took it out of the entire race. There was major disappointment from the entire team as this car had finished qualifying in the top cars. Repairs will be completed as the team is eager to battle again for the next race. Car #1 (Arroldn) suffered front end damage but was able to continue the race. Crews report that the damage is minimal and the car will be race ready soon. Car #37 (Tin_Indians) also suffered a loose rear wheel but was able to continue on and finish in 6th place. Again repairs will be made to get this car race ready. The #77 (Digital Springer) Santa Car spread plenty of joy for the entire race and all drivers got on the 'good list' for participating.

NOTE: As in most other proxies, the team's worst race will be taken off when the entire race season is completed.

5 #33 BRUMOS 87.6 2

In the modified class the results were surprising as compared to the qualifying rounds. The only race team to have major problems was the #7 Camaro (8Wheels) which suffered a loose front wheel on the third heat which took it out for the rest of the race. Repairs will be completed before the next race. No photos were taken off the crash.

NOTE: As in most other proxies, the team's worst race will be taken off when the entire race season is completed.

Congratulations to all the podium finishers and good luck to all for round 2 which will be run on a Carrera Plastic track also in Edmonton Alberta. Details of the venue will be posted soon.

Tom,
Great track and reporting. Thanks to all the fellows who made this happen.
Stock class, what happened to my little Mustang? Did it hit the wall or something?
Modified class, We knew Dariusz would have a class car. Will SweatPea and I be fighting it out for 3rd place? Whales vs Minnows

Congratulations to all the podium finishers and all participants. Dale so far I'm 1 up on you.

Tune in proxy fans. Same proxy channel. Hope my cars can move up as the series continues.

Foul Foul Dariusz driver is not in a period correct helmet  :D

#7 You picked a fine time to leave me louse wheel. That makes 2 proxy and 3 rims that have taken a hike. Put a new complete rear set on and now the front want some help. Well I see if we cane make 4 of a kind by the end of this one. :angry-tappingfoot: :angry-tappingfoot:

Great job by all involved in this proxy...
I wish I was able to attend the race but at least I was able to qualify the cars, and I want to thank you all for that...
Our club certainly has made it's mark with our entries in this first round, but we should be good here, as this is the track we tuned our cars to... It's going to be interesting to see how they do in the rest of the series...
Congrats to all the podium finishers...

All the best...
Ron...

You have built a rocket, very punchy car, fastest pioneer we race Thursday. If Tom will post spread sheet you will see that your charger had quickest lap on every lane. Almost breaking 7 sec lap which is very good. It was a bit demanding on drivers side but I think it will progress well on other tracks, car to beat.

Congrats to podiumites in both classes.

Tom great work on reporting.

Dariusz,
My Charger was 2 laps down, did it de-slot? Not a good proxy car if it can't be driven. I think RichD said that in some post somewhere. Or I've heard it from other top finishing proxy racers.

Congratulations to you and great looking weathered Camaro.

Well let's just see how this plays out.

Congrats to the podium finishers.
Arroldn you got me in this Proxy as my car has Polynesian paralysis. Could never get the wheels and tires to work.you can see that I had to put aluminum tubing to anchor hubs. Honestly do not think they will-last the Proxy. Should have replaced whole set up.
The other builders have done a great job and should be commended.
Pioneer cars are beautifully made.
Enjoy everyone...Raderek cool paint job
Aloha

Dale

That paint is a stock paint, one of the many available.

Arrold

With bit more weight or gearing ratio bit down your car would be unbeatable.
Yes we had a few deslots with the car, due to its unpredictability in corners(more weight needed or maybe longer braid) it doesn’t change the fact that it is rhe fastest of the hord.

Awesome race recap guys. Great pictures.

Well done by the Edmonton crew.

Very interesting first round. I'm quite happy with the result of my car. :D

Dariusz thanks for the comments. Currently not at home. I will have to check my file to see what the weight and gear ratio are. Good first round.

OK Home now. The car is heavy at 112 grams. Now the gear was a compromise. 13/33 2.53 I think I was out of 12 tooth pinions. This may explain why it doesn't have much brake.
