As I'm a completely rookie in this means I know nothing about NA racing history ( be a east European means we had to race only Skoda or Wartburg or Trabant...haha) question is.... building a car do I need to do any specific work to represent Era more or is just the type of the body used?

Hi Dariusz, The answer is that it depends on you. Just the body is fine for this series, but if you want to be more authentic and model the body of a car that actually ran in SCCA; then that’s always a plus for everyone. And, there is a concourse before the the first race......

I wouldn't mind being in the production class if I knew what a production car was. I see some Vettes are there. Don't have any of these cars. Cobra, Jag.

Hi Arrold, In SCCA a Production car was, generally, a car that was built for the street and then tuned for racing. So, street cars that raced in SCCA races were designated Production cars. Hope that’s clear. If you have a question on a specific car(s), just ask.

The birdcage needed a nicer chassis Imo...
It’s not going to set records, my goal is to make it a
Beautiful car to look at & Drive...I’m enjoying the build
The next thing I’m a try is some bars for behind the dash board
as it is just resin as you can see in picture....

C’mon you Production Division guys!

We need more Corvettes, Cobras, Jaguars, Austin Healeys, MGs, Triumphs, Porsche’s, Alfa’s, Sunbeams, etc., etc. All the fun street cars from the ‘50’s & ‘60’s that used to hit the track on the weekends for some SCCA fun!

I thought that we’d see a pile of the Fly Alfa Guilia GTAm’s and GTA Jr’s; known fast slot cars, as well as the Scalextric Austin Healey 3000’s, MGB hardtops, SCX MGA’s, Scaley Porsche 356 tubs and MRRC 911’s (yes, Charlie Slade ran a 911 in the D Production class at the American Road Race of Champions (ARRC) - Daytona on November 28, 1965, so the 911 makes the cut). Tons of good cars to choose from in this Division. It’s like taking your dad’s car to the track on a Sundsy afternoon......

I will change my entry to Production if that will help the field. It really doesn't matter what division I am in. I am not sure what I will run, but I have a couple of choices here in the stable.

I have a 911 body. Not sure what year. When I get home I'll snap a photo and you can give me a determination. I think it fits this class. Bought it to run in CanAm but never built it.

I could be reaching, but a clear understanding of available/legal cars that are also available as a slot car may be an issue. I'm currently skated to run a car that I like the looks of, but am way of performance. The provided link is helpful, but requires quite a bit of time if one wants to navigate around to find a competitive slot car that is eligible. L I've attempted many searches using the and Google for podded cars that can run as a sidewinder. If I were a modeler and scratch builder, it probably wouldn't be an issue.

Go ahead and add me to the Production category. I think I will bring an Austin-Healy to the fight. i would kind of like to race an MGA or BMW 2002 (Spirit), but those wide Corvettes will eat them alive. The Healy is pretty close. I have always thought the Ninco chassis made the car look too high. I might finally keep the promise I have been making to myself for the last decade and build a chassis for it. Who knows? Put me down for an Austin-Healy. I will keep number nine.

Hi Czar and Arroldn; thanks for the offer, but you guys don’t need to change Divisions unless you really wast to. We’ll either fill up the Production Division or we’ll expand the Modified Division to get a total of 40 cars. So think it over one more time. If you still want to make the switch to the Bug Healey and the 912, then that’s fine with me, but don’t felt that you have to.

Hi Cory, The Ninco Jaguar XK-120 will, I think take an HRS2 prodded chassis with 15x8mm wheels. If you have a question on a car, post it and I’ll try to get you the answer(s).
