That came out really nice, John! The decals look great on the car, as do the wheels, etc., etc. Good luck finding the "pinged-off" headlight lens...………. :lol:

Thanks Allan, I gave up and just used some premade headlights and didnt fit the lense covers....car is nearly done.

I visited Viv this morning and took some shots of his Kurtis Kraft.

Hi John, one trick with missing headlight covers is to make up a small amount of the crystal clear araldite and put a blob in the headlight cavity, when it sets it fills the hole and becomes the cover, the hardest part to that is to get the right amount of glue to make them the same, you can pull some out with a took pick if you think there may be too much there, but you have to do this before it sets.
Easy to do really, I have done it a few times on the MRRC King Cobra's I have made.
Your Lister looks great and so does Viv's car too.
Get it done.

Looks like Viv is a master modeler - for sure - really nice car there and the detail on the interior is something special! Just having two unique cars like your Costin Lister Jag and Viv's Kurtis Kraft in the field makes it all worthwhile!

Will be interesting to see how the slimcan motors stack up against the short cans...……..

I think not well,i tested my mod entry(Ferrari Uovo) which had a slimline scratchbuilt chassis (when it was built,back in 2010,it was intended to be fitted with a scaleauto black-30k- motor which performed well) and it was too much slower than my prod Healy fitted with an H&R motor so i started building a new chassis for the Uovo to accept mabuchi motor

Some progress on the body to report.

The C2 Corvette is painted and I applied the decals last night. I think that Thompson did a terrific job with them, although my application of them is not exactly spot on - close enough for racing...……



My favorite Grand Sport paint scheme.



Sitting a little low on the chassis right now, but it will come up just a little when I make up the body mounts.



I like the simplicity of the decals; just the way that the cars used to look in the old hey days of SCCA racing. I took Thompson's suggestion about using the #11 Exacto knife and small metal straightedge; I'm glad I did. I also took his advice about leaving a small white border around the square number plates; and liked the effect enough to use it on all of the rest of them too.... And, I only used one of my two decal sheets...…… ;) :lol:

I think those paint stands are made by Tamiya. I have a few that i bought off eBay. They are great for holding those bodies.
