69 T/A Testing and tuning.

Putting the final tune on this one. Might have to be one of my entries! I blew the crown apart on the second sub 8 second lap! On my track, any car that can run below 8.00 sec's is a mover. this one is built on a very old H&R Chassis with a jaws motor. Just a heads up, I was running some urethanes during set up, and was running around 8.450- 8.525. I put on a new trued and glued set of Trifecta's, and first lap went 7.989! more body adjustments, and more trueing of the front tires should net some mid 7's I believe. You guy's better step it up! this ones hot!

On a related note - how do you like the Jaws in comparison to the Hawk?.
I haven't build anything with the Jaws yet and have a couple that I picked up in a previous SCC order and was kicking around swapping one into either the Camaro (or the Challenger that I am hoping to build next.)
Any thoughts on how their manners compare in the heavier 1/25 scale cars would be appreciated!

Has there been a minimum weight set for these cars? I didn't see anything regarding this in the rules section.

Bob - speaking of weight - I am assuming any added lead needs to be "inside" the chassis (not below) - correct?

Todd, we didnt state in the rules, but i think it might be a good idea to keep it inside. Just for the track owners sake. Personally, i dont care if its secured to the bottom.

So on the subject of weights, how much do you put in a 124 car? This H&R is a new chassis for me so unsure of where to start.

Bob - Appreciate the details on the attributes of each! The Hawk has been my go-to for many a proxy and it is what we are now using in our "Spec Womp" class at the commercial track - so have a pretty good feel for what it seems to like / dislike. Now whether to dip a toe and Jaws in the potential second build... decisions, decisions, decisions...

Todd, if you building two cars, try the jaws. If you dont like it, or the cars dont run equal for you after the proxy, i'll swap you a hawk for it. Win/win.

Bob - assuming that the Camaro continues to go together as smoothly as it has been, I plan to move forward with building a '72 Challenger based off of this kit:
(this is the one that I said that I needed to do some "hood" work to to make it look appropriate)



I have another SCC order coming with an added chassis - so things look pretty promising for a potential "dual entry" from here and if that is the case, I will outfit the Challenger with the Jaws motor to try it out. :D
