Went to Louisville today for the 7th Annual Bullitt 500. Pics of the field 20 Cars. 500 laps 5 hrs of racing 5 mins in each lane rotating through all 8 lanes twice. Winner Skip Bennett 500 laps, 2nd Tom Holt 499 laps, 3rd Rick Erwin 498 laps. Yours truly 16th 478 laps. Blew the fuse in my controller twice. Lost about 6 laps. Offs and breakouts account for the rest.

Yeah Harry I'll keep trying. When I first got there and started testing my car geared 10/33 wasn't close to the 9:45 breakout. Got there only once in the orange lane. It was averaging about 9:60s So I switched to a 30T crown. OK now I have to blip in the high bank to avoid breaking out. As Skip was going over things in the drivers meeting he said a good average lap time is 9:60. UM wished he had told me that earlier. I decided to not try and rush changing back to the 10/33 setup. I bumped 9:45-9:49 a couple of times but got bit when I went under the 9:45. Think I'll go back to the 10/33 and blip once instead of 3 times. But even then you still might breakout as some experienced. Sometimes you just hit those marks perfectly and get that fastest lap and you're like where did that come from?

I think I am going to try to make this event next year. Seems like I should make some trips to practice too. I'm glad it was a good event and you had a good time. Thanks for the report.

We have fun playing with stock cars and other body classes at Bullitt. A group of us from Indiana run the same chassis/motor setup and limit gear ratio to 3:1. We throw in Protrack stock car chassis and extended Womp chassis. We all just run for fun. We have no worries about breakout, we just crash and burn. We run stock cars, Canam, trans am and modifieds/hot rods. Skip is great owner and the track is geared to veteran racers.
