I am considering fitting an H&R slider chassis under a 1/24 scale '82 Buick Regal model body, but was wondering what sized wheels would best fit.
The H&R wheelbase is easy to find online (92mm to 123mm) however no one seems to mention minimum track width. I understand that there are plastic spacers which may be removed, but at some point the chassis is going to get in the way of reducing the track. What are the minimum widths that the chassis can accommodate in both the front and rear? Additionally, what are the different minimum track widths when using the 27x12 and the 27x18 on the rear axle?
Here are the rough maximum track widths that my model body can allow:
front: 73mm
rear: 76mm
With a wheelbase of 115mm, the chassis will certainly work length-wise, but I am wondering whether or not to go with the 27x12 or 27x18 rear wheels. My budget is not unlimited, so I can not afford to order both sizes and see what works best. I'm hoping that someone out there has run in to the same situation and may heave the track measurements handy. Thanks.
