This project has been sitting in my workshop for some time. Was inspired by the 124 proxy, Bob was hosting, but as this chassis was scratchbuilt it did not meet the criteria requested for the Proxy. So it was put on the back burner until a few days ago when I decided it needed to get finished. 124 scale sure opens up possibilities.

Fantastic looking car! Love the level of detail on the whole car. Next years race may be opened up to scratch built chassis. I have a few that didnt meet the specs myself, but would have done well in the race.

Agreed with all the above. I absolutely love the engine in the car. While you can't see it when it's running on display it looks fantastic. One note though, you have the firing order wrong on the cap. :lol:

Thanks. Was fun modeling in a scale that lets you try some new things. Not sure how some of this detail work will hold up in a big smack. The motor is screwed to the chassis though so it might be OK.

Curious, what gauge/type of wire did you use? And did you glue them in? Thanks, Brent

oops, the spark plug wires

Spark plug wires were made out of some fine single strand wire. It was all I had on hand. They are a little too bulky, but magnet wire in this scale is too fine
