Moving to 124 digital

We built our first Carrera digital track last year and had a ball. Our racing was primarily non-racers hanging out in the man cave and getting their first taste of slot car racing. We ran 4-6 up 132 with all the cars matched as closely as possible. We are ready for some upgrades this year. Major changes in store include:
Changing from SmartRace to Bruce Yingling’s software. Smart race was too buggy.
Upgrading Carrera wireless controllers to digital trigger controllers. I found Carrera wireless controllers failed to hold up over time.
Changing to 124. The larger cars should make a better experience for the uninitiated. Plus, they are cool!
I’ve chipped several non Carrera 132 cars with success. What other brands of 124 cars can be easily chipped and what brands should be avoided?
What about Proslot and Ninco? Are they easily converted?
Thanks in advance. I’m sure I’ll be here with kits of questions as we make the changes.
