I set this up to do last weekend, but never got it going. Yesterday I got the shells together and today sanding and priming. The Coronet will be Go Mango with black, the Challenger will be red with flat black, the Duster will stay stock and the the Camaro Telephonica blue with white.

Have you trial fitted the hood yet? Its a booger, and the hole for it was way too big on mine. The lower valance under the front bumper is insane, too. When I do these things, I usually line every seam with hot glue for impacts. Nobody make a good glue anymore that is practical to use for slot cars, so I just reinforce the heck out of them.

When I get a little further on the chassis, I have a surprise that will probably start a small revolution around HRW in 1/24-1/25 models. I can say that now I know it works!

Nah, just 3. I thought you and Rocky might want some. I was tempted to get all of them and build them to sell. When are you ever going to see brand new AMT kits for $13, after all? Never a better opportunity for that kind of thing than these. I got the Coronet, the '57 Chrysler 300, and the Challenger. I had the others from purchases off HRW members of discard cars and supluses. I've been saving them until I was free to have time to work on them. There are 9 other kits in line behind these. Its going to be quite a stable, even without all of Jim's specials.

Marty, I got it that way. Its a really good representation of the Duster/Demon in 1971. It was a prepainted kit, and the guy mounted a ProTrack RTR under it. When he got out of the hobby, I bought 6 cars and a bunch of extra bodies from him. It was just too pretty to repaint, besides I couldn't figure out anything but dirt track and drag racing that would use that body style. The only thing I'll do to it is black wash the grill.

Dennis, I don't know who built it, but that picture was taken in 2012 at an unnamed speedway. I googled it, and found it on someone's Flicker album.

Here's the wheel thing I mentioned: In order to get a good bond and fit for some Paul Gage tires I have that are just right for two of these cars, I needed a rounded sidewall, and a smooth wheel surface for the toire to bond to. The front wheels I have on hand just won't do at all, and I had this bag of take off wheels with foam tires that a guy was going to discard. I set up the lathe with a 1/8 axle and went to it. The wheel is now a perfect fit for the Paul Gage tire I wanted to use, and with its new narrower width, it fits inside the fender.

I took the foam tire off the same way I always do, and narrowed the wheel afterward on the same set up.

Eh, that's just the leftover paint from the Challenger I didn't get scrubbed off yet. Its a lot ickier now that I painted the Camaro.

Glad ya like it. So far the hardest thing has been making the Coronet's tiny tail lights from red parts trees from other kits. That was a bear to do. It just looked dumb without them. For some reason, after two days gassing out, the blue paint reacted to the masking tape, too. That took a bit of polishing today. Its coming together now, though. I found the perfect inserts for the Duster, and the Minilites for the Challenger were in today's mail.

Is Competition Resins on Jeremy's resin list? That's where I got the Minilites.

Had a lot of interruptions and nonsense that held me up for hours at a time, but I finally finished them tonight. Not last week. Oh well. You can see the alternative tire mount on the front wheel of the Charger and the Coronet. The Duster has some inserts I made from a model kit's spares. The Coronet didn't come with tail lights and it looked dumb, so these are made from sanded down red plastic parts trees. Oh, and David, the Duster driver is about 5'-5'' in your honor!
