Do you guys have discount drug mart stores anywhere around you?

It is a local drug store chain like Rite Aid or Walgreens around the Ohio area.

I was in there the other day and they had a lot of various 1/24-1/25 models for $13.99 and up which I thought was a good deal considering most model kits are upwards of $20 or more.

They have limited selection of 3-4 dozen cars but still for the price.....

Michael's craft stores have a varying selection of car models also plus with there discount coupons make them even more affordable.

Just food for thought to save you guys a few dollars to stretch your hobby dollars.

We have a Walgreens now, but it does not carry anything. Few years ago my friends in SEMO would find the Snaptite 1/32 cars there all the time, plus a few others. Of course when we finally get one, they don't carry much toy items anymore.

Takes me about an hour to get to Jeff City, our Capitol. We go about once a month or so. Usually time it when Hobby Lobby runs the 40% coupon. I forgot the coupon, but went online with my phone and used that no problem. So the kit was about $16.10.

I did not need it. I think I buy kits only so Tony Diamond from SEMO can go under my table and toy shop.

Hey Harry!

I can't seem to find any snap tite kits around here anymore.

Kmart use to carry them years ago but they clearance them out when they use to be packaged in the boxes and haven't got any of the newer packaged kits.

I was amazed how expensive model kits are without some kind of discount?

$20-$25 on average.

We don't have any local hobby shops around here to buy from. Our Hobbytown went under years ago.

With the internet they just can't seem to compete anymore.

Looks like a cool kit, may have to keep my eye out for that one. It is a challenge finding a good source of models locally. Even though I am in a metropolitan area, there are no hobby shops with a 30 min drive. We do have Hobby Lobby, Micheals and Mejier (which carrys a limited selection of Revell kits) but not much else.

I use to go out to Chicago a couple times a year and I would stay in Tinley park on LaGrange road. Just north of there in Orland Park I believe? is a huge Hobbytown USA with an owner named Rich who was awesome and accommodated me everytime I was out to visit. They ran 1/24 RC cars on an indoor track there and they had many different scale train layouts also. He had a big Carrera track also set up in a side room. Check it out if you get a chance. Well worth the trip!

$15-25 for a static model kit and you guys are complaining? I think you've had it too good for too long. Try $40-50 down in Oz at your local hobby store.

Great looking kit!

I love our Hobby Lobby - they have a decent selection of stuff and it is one of the few places I can get the Model Masters Lacquer paints.
