Tires and Motor Speed

I am curious as to what kind of tires and motors others are using on their brass chassis cars. The reason I'm asking is because I've noticed that our cars with motors rated at 30K RPMs and higher seem to run best with silicon coated sponge tires; urethane tires seem to just spin and slide too much with the faster motors. Cars with slower motors seem to run better with urethane tires. Any input would be helpful. We are running on a flat latex track surface with the power set at 10 volts.

all the cars ive been building mostly run 14k motors. on the smaller home tracks that more then enough. i prefer silicone tires myself but all these fun runs ive been entering require the use of urethane/rubber. its all a matter of opinion and rules for said race you are building the cars for but in my opinion i like the 14-18k range motors best :)

Max rpm is 21K here.
All PG urethanes.
Some silicone on Slot.it models for testing and to run with friends who use them.

Harry, Are you running 12 volts on your track?

12 is often the voltage on the oval.
10 1/2 to 11 (somewhere in there) for the road course. Only set at 12 for product reviews/testing.
Never go over 12 unless we fun run some Carrera 124.

Thanks, Harry, that helps a lot.
