FYI - cars arrived this morning. Good thing I was home as the postie just left them on my doorstep.
Unpacked them, everything seems in order. And for you would be Proxy organizers, take note of Chris's packaging - reinforced corners (check), directions on how to open the box (check), well packaged and secured cars (check), built-in tire cleaner LOL (check), customs doc/envelope included (check).
Proud to be part of a well organized race. :text-bravo:

The cars look to be in good shape. Although Lez's car sounds like it has something loose in it. But nothing falls out? I wonder if he's gone the way of internal ballast that moves with the car. Anyone remember the red Strombecker Chapparal 2H with the steel ball in the rear? While the cars won't be racing on my track (Mugello), over the weekend I'll take each car and look at them more closely for a few laps to ensure all are in good working order for the race. This is your *hint* to start the bribes
The race is scheduled for Sunday March 31st. Likely early afternoon (Mountain time). The plan is run qually and then run straight into the race. We don't mess around
The race will be hosted on another our club's tracks, Silverado which is a 3 lane braided track...around 63' lap length IIRC. More info about the track can be seen here in posts #1 and 3:
http://www.slotcarillustrated.com/porta ... rs-calgaryThis is the same track that has hosted the Group 5 cars the last two years, so there is a benchmark these cars will be racing towards. The track will be well rubbered-in as we will be racing our regular club races earlier in the day. I expect nothing less than a new track record from numero uno Sir Cameron.
Someone asked about video? We always provide video and unlike others ours will be live. Our plan is to livestream it over Facebook here on our club page:
https://www.facebook.com/RockyMtnRacers/You can watch, comment and interact with the action, comedy, thrills and spills to your heart's content. For those who'd rather watch F1 or NASCAR, go for it....you can catch a rebroadcast of teh qually/race that will be recorded and available at the above FB page.
Cheers for now, eh!
Tom
