We forgot our report from last week. We ran the 7 car with the door open in the snow. Total laps - 7.3598756243. Fast lap - 68.56 seconds. Traction was bountiful but the car was loose when pushed, a little chatery, too much motor, the guide was sticky, kinda tippy, and a down right a bore to drive. Can't wait to race the other 23 cars.

Congrats to the podiumdites.... :) Another close event. I hope to post more pictures soon.

Just some commentary, my impression was this was not the same as our last track. It could have been the could temperatures in the garage but the cars did not feel the same as Wayne's or even during qualifying. I want to thank Bob "REL13" because he made a car just for this event to convert the track to rubber and ran 2000 laps in each lane before the race. We then practiced for 45 minutes before the start of the event. I also did the same "trick" as I did before, spreading very lightly the NSR tire oil in the turns. We also used MONGO pads to clean the heck out of the tires before each heat. Could it be that Wayne's surface is just that good but as a driver, the cars felt different.

We had a couple of issues with cars loosing braid and the braid wire coming off. Brumos RSR lost a braid and I stuck it back in. There was another car that we did a lead wire repair on but I lost track in the confusion of running the event, recording, cleaning, etc.

Before shipping the cars out, i am going to take a little time to clean everyone's tires with lighter fluid. I'm a little concerned with how quickly the tires pick up crud and I want to make sure everyone's cars are in tip top shape before shipping out. Maybe it would be a good idea to make it a point to do this after every few rounds?

Thanks for the update and congratulations to the top five cars. Man a big drop-off from 14th place to the 4 cars which got 105 laps. A five lap difference. Oh well. I see Allan got me in this round.

I could not agree more with the comment about properly cleaning tires. Perhaps we should standardize the way that tires are cleaned at each Round(?) I doubt that there's currently much difference, but if you go from one track that uses sticky pads to another that uses a water-based cleaning solution, then you're bound to see differences in the way that the cars perform; one track to another. The only way that you could get around that would be to go to a spec tire. I know that Chris used to include a sticky roller in the transport box, which I assumed was the way that he wanted the tires cleaned. I don't want to suggest something that's overly stringent or burdensome, but I have seen this problem crop up more than once in the recent past and the faster these cars go, the more proper tire cleaning could be an important factor.
