As some of you might be working on your car and perhaps testing, I would first and foremost congratulate you.....you are several months ahead of most, and secondly make sure you pay attention to this rule.

Cars must be entered with the correct wing and in the original position as per the 1:1 car - these wings are big and can be fragile, so I would suggest a support method that does not distract from the look of the car. Perhaps a small piece of color matching foam or styrene plastic could be used to reinforce the wing.

Please post your ideas, looking for methods that does not distract much from the scale appearance and blends in with the body as much as possible.

Yep, they are very fragile... Stock wing rule may be the one thing that makes me backout... I hate big wings. Back in my RAA days, wings were required, but could be modified.

Here is an idea for those that want to use it. On my cars I started using elastic thread, that can be found at Micheals in the Beading section. This stuff is stiff enough to hold the wing, but it is flexible to allow hard knocks with no damage. I use this beading thread to make mirrors and antenna as well.

I love that idea and went off in search of suchlike. There's 1mm wire in the house but seems a bit feeble but I did find a roll of 0.46mm nylon coated stainless steel cable that's just like fishing trace wire and should work great and be very difficult to break being steel wire but still be really springy.

The use of plastic supports got me thinking about what do I have around the house that could be used. I've got lots of plastic wire in my whippersnipper and if it's strong enough to slash through weeds and small shrubs then it's perfectly suited to one of my cars.

The added bonus is if I leave it sticking out of the car an inch on each side it makes my car much harder to lap - win/win situation for me.

Does the wing have to stay on and in its original position throughout the entire series, or just at the start of the first race?
