The cars are now on route to Allan, and I know he had a preference for running the race earlier in January, so I expect to hear from him soon with an ETA.

Timing on Round #3 is now January 12th or 13th; depending on which date is better for the racers, with qualy earlier in that week; likely Wednesday or Thursday.

Some of us will need more than luck...…...but thanks for the wishes...….

The Group 5 NA Proxy cars are in MA! A nice, intact box of 24 racers was delivered today. On initial inspection, they all seem to have weathered the trip from the West Coast very well.







I'll have a closer look at each car early next week to be sure that they're all intact and race-ready.

The race is still planned for either the 12th or 13th of this month, with the qualy taking place earlier in that same week.

We ran the Round #3 Qualy today, but before I get to the results, here are some pics of the track and the field.

The track is 16' x 6' and is very technical, with one of almost everything in it except elevation changes; a chicane, an increasing radius turn, a decreasing radius turn, a disguised hairpin, a constant radius sweeper, a segmented sweeper and three straights.

Bob Bianchi from Slot Car Corner came down to do the honors. We ran each car for 10 laps to get used to its performance characteristics, then 10 more laps for fastest time. We also kept track of the 10-lap average times and made comments on each car's performance along the way. All cars had their tires cleaned on a sticky pad before being entered into the 10 lap pre-qualy run and again just before their 10 lap qualy. The track was well rubbered-in based on having run 250 laps with a soft rubber tired car the night before. The qualy was run in the middle (white) lane.



Just before the qualy, we discovered something that seemed to be amok, but we never could quite figure it out...……….

Allan, thank you for the qualifying run. Looks like I need to add either a 1 or 0 to enhance my odds of qualifying well. Congrats Sir Smokieo, Cgyracer and Sir Camber on you top 3 qualifying. Good luck to all the builders in the big race.

Well I made it here, as much as I wanted to put up with SCI problems it got past being funny.

Are we going to see any video action? I'm seriously missing some Gr5 Proxy action.

No, sorry, no video/streaming capabilities here, but I'll take as many stills as time allows.
