I just put up the opening post for the 2019 Can-Am Series and there are some changes from last year's series that I wanted to highlight for you. They're all in keeping with the spirit of the original Can-Am series. Here are the changes:

1. The series is for purpose-build, open cockpit Can-Am cars only; 1966-1974
2. The motor is OPEN this year as long as it's an FC-130, FK-130, FK-180 or FF-050, it's legal to run.
3. Wheels are OPEN this year, as long as they respect and maintain the scale appearance of the 1:1 car that ran in the Can-Am series
4. Tires are OPEN this year; again, as long as they respect and maintain the scale appearance of the 1:1 car
5. Tires must be rubber; no urethanes this year

The other rules are pretty much as they were for the 2018 series. Take a look at them and if you're interested in participating, then start signing up at the end of the "2019 Can-Am Proxy - Rules & Registration" thread.

This will be a fast series! And a lot of fun, too!

Hi Bob, Yes, just rubber tires this time around. We just had too many cases of rubber tires loading up when run at the same time as urethanes, so we went to rubber only this year.

The NSR Ultragrip and Supergrip tires are rubber; the BOSA tires are urethane; the Slot.It N22, P6 and F22 are all rubber and the Thunderslot tires are also rubber. I think that the NSR tires are apt to be the most popular for this proxy; either Supergrips or Ultragrips. Slot.It recommends their P6 rubber tires for flat, routed wood tracks and everybody likes the TS tires; that's for sure.
