The Can Am cars arrived in North Carolina on Thursday and the shipping container is in good shape.

I have not opened the box yet to inspect the cars. We have a very busy weekend of slot racing this weekend so I will perform a full inspection and report by Tuesday the 25th.

We will try to get the cars qualified either this week or next and then conduct the race the following week.

Your cars are in good hands and our drivers are looking forward to racing them.

I conducted a thorough inspection of your cars this morning and they arrived in excellent shape - race ready with only a tire cleaning necessary.

There was a chrome mirror loose in the shipping carton that appears to belong to the #25 car. Rather than attempt to glue it to the clear windshield I will place it and an identifying note in a small ziploc bag and tape it to the interior wall of the shipping box.

I will assume the Chaparral is required to qualify and race with it's wing since the wing was provided in the carton. If I am incorrect about this someone please let me know.

We're looking forward to racing your cars. Rest assured - all of our club members are excellent drivers with several years of racing experience each. We will take the utmost care handling your machinery.

We will try to qualify them sometime this week and have the race completed before the end of the second week of July.

Steve, what tires do you guys primarily run at your track?

Zack, we run NSR SuperGrips and Slot.It F rubber on almost all classes with the exception of Thunderslots which we run stock. Occasionally we run other compounds - Paul Gage urethane on cars with plastic wheels such as Fly classics and stock Ninco rubber on Ninco classics.

The Trace has an 80' average lap length and an excellent lap time would be in the 5.8 second mark. Most good cars will dial in around 5.9 or 6.0 secs.

Qualifying in about one hour... Best of luck to all entrants.

Here are the results of today's qualifying. We ran 10 laps with each car to get a median time and a best lap time. Some very nice cars there. Congratulations to the top finishers!

Thanks for the qualifying! I was hoping to be a little higher on a rubber track, but looks like I am right in the thick of it again!
