No bearings? What is with the adversion to bearings. Seems every proxy specifies this. The cost of 3/32 bearings is less than bushings..

I use bearings on all my builds, and just noticed this no bearing thing again. So it is back to the soldering table to remove bearings and install bushings, which in all likelyhood makes zero difference. I suspect the varience in motor rpms between motors makes a bigger difference then bearings vs bushing do.

Just raising the flag on a rule that seems pointless IMO.

Here is my first attempt at a drag car. A 1966 Mustang with a scratchbuilt Brass chassis. Big Paul gage urethanes used on the back that were salvaged from a Sportsman car, as was the motor and the shell.

Wheels lift on take off, and that is all I know. Will send this in and wait on feedback as my straight at home is only 12 feet.

Was asked to share where I get my 3/32 bearings so cheap.

Just search ebay Minature flanged bearings FR133ZZ. $1.00 a bearing,free shipping.

Multiple asian venders selling these. The part number is what helps the search find the exact flanged bearings you need for a 3/32 axle.

I have a few cars with bearings as ProTrack used to use them on their chassis kits. Haven't really seen a big advantage with them, maybe on an endurance or extended proxy event but for what we're doing here with drags probably not a big advantage. I think bearings are viewed as overly expensive, I've never looked into getting them but looks like you can find them pretty reasonable, or expensive, need to be careful where you buy, especially on amazon/ebay.

FR144zz will get you the 1/8x1/4 too.

Dan - That Mustang definitely looks like she'll be a runner!

Like Dan posted, bearings are $1.25 each at avidrc.com. Metric and Imperial sizes. I have used these for years with zero failures. Seems to be no difference on track between these and the $22.00 jobs from the Raceway. There is a measured speed difference on the Drag Strip between the Avid bearings and bushings.

Well - maybe for a future run of this proxy we will allow them - however, for now, they are only allowed in the EXPO class.

Throwing this 63 Vette in the mix. Dressed the body up a bit. Not totally sure about the chassis yet but kicking around a couple of ideas. (Sorry if the pics are giant, first time I’ve done this from my phone)
