New cars and a dead camera...

Postby ChallengerGuy » Thu Sep 10, 2015 11:11 pm

Well, as you can see, my Fuji XF1 camera is dead after a short 8 months. Sadly, Fuji wants about $150 to fix it. May as well buy another for $199...only to watch it die in 6-12 months all over again. It's a real shame as this camera took incredible pictures for a point and shoot. I still have my big boy cameras (both film and digital) but this was my goto hobby camera. Oh well, live and learn.

Here's my last picture taken with this camera - new additions to the fleet.

Cheers,
Mike

Nice haul Mike. Finding 2 of the red Road Runner in that good of shape is hard. Been watching for a Green Charger lately, they are getting a little hard to find too. Gotta love those AFX stockers. Terry

Sadly digital cameras, even expensive ones, are now considered to be almost throw away items, but I believe that your camera has a one year warranty. Having to pay nearly the cost of a new camera to fix it is absurd. If you can't get any satisfaction from Fuji you might try contacting someone like Consumer Reports, they collect data on product reliability and often go to bat for people with warranty problems.

Sorry to hear about your camera woes Mike, but look at it from my point of view... at least you know how to use it and post your pictures! I'm still a digital idiot, but have been promised live hands on help from this end, so maybe finally some time this year for me? Those are four real nice cars you've got there. If you've got the decals, how about picking one of those red Roadrunners and do up an STP livery car for yourself, maybe with a little detail painting here and there? It'll look great, and a bit different from the stock A/FX paint job. I scored one of those Chargers in the lime green w/ blue numbers to use in a Magna Traction oval series I was running in. That color combination just looks COOL, and shows up well on the track, too! Thanks for sharing, and enjoy your MOPAR stockers! -- Ernie :>)

Thanks. Yeah, no worries, I have a ton of cameras to choose from, I just really liked what the XF1 did on EXR mode. It was like candy for photos. And yeah, AFX stockers are my all time favourite cars. Here's a few more:
