Saturday Night at Palmer Beach raceways!

Last night APalmer invited a couple of us HRW members to his home for a little Saturday night action at Palmer Beach Raceways!
The action started with Stock T-jets on the road course!

There was some great door to door, fender rubbing action on the tight twisty sections that kept everyone on their toes!

When the checkered flag dropped - the finishing order sorted out as follows:

The next class to hit the twisties were the always entertaining Racing Rigs!
For this class both Aronn's wife Candis and their daughter Victoria joined in the fun!

On the tight twisty road course mayhem definitely lurked around every bend!
There was bumping, banging, pushing and think Hangtime and Victoria were sprinkling the track with Pepsi and Hershey bars with their cargo door flying open before the action came to a close! :lol:
To say that these have to be one of the funnest class we run would be and understatement!

When the cleanup crew finished with the carnage and the laps were tallied - the results shook out with a finish that literally was a "photo finish" with Hangtime's Pepsi machine finishing roughly one INCH ahead of my Kendall rig!
(I still say it was due to all the cans of Pepsi flying out of the back - James Bond style!)

After clearing the track of scattered Hershey bars and Pepsi cans - it was the Aurora MagnaTraction and AutoWorld XTraction cars to the starting line!

Hangtime had the Chevelle runnin' low and a flyin' wide with the rest of the field trying to chase him down! Slot Therapist had the BAJA bug up on two wheels more than once chasing his tail lights with APalmer and his drop top Challenger keeping the California Highway Patrol firmly in his rear view mirror!

The final class for the evening was another wild one!
It was the inaugural run on the new oval with the Fairground cars!
All I can say is it was a RIOT!!!

The track is so new - that it didn't have power until the day before the race and the name is still pending, but you'd never know it by how good the racing was!!!



(and yes - those corners ARE as tight as they look! :lol: )

When the dust settled, the leader had clicked off 177 laps... And as a testament as to how good the racing was? First and second place were separated by ONE segment - with the front bumper of Slot Therapist's '53 being nearly even with rear bumper of Hangtime's orange Challenger!

Definitely a FUN class and track! I can see this track being VERY popular for upcoming races!

All in all a great night! Good food, good friends and lots of laughs - can't ask for a much better way to spend an evening!

The turns on that oval... they're 6" inside and 9" outside radius, correct?
That always makes for lots of FUN with the T-Jet stockers!
